CCM: If you had only five words to describe your new album, it would be…?
Wande: cinematic, redemptive, refreshing, wholesome, cultural

CCM: Do you have a favorite song from the new album? Why?
Wande: My favorite song is “No Further” because it describes how God takes us as we are and we don’t have to clean ourselves up first before we can be saved.

CCM: What led you to pursue a career or ministry in music?
Wande: I discovered I could rap in high school due to a biology project. After that I used it to spread the gospel at lunch because of how much attention it brought. After that it became a passion and I felt God was calling me to do this as a career.

CCM: Do you remember that moment when you realized you wanted to make an actual career out of music?
Wande: I discovered I could make an actual career out of music from the undeniable favor I received every step of my life as I continued to walk in the plan to pursue music. From scholarships to TV shows requesting to cast me, to getting an internship with what ended up being my current label.

CCM: If you could potentially tour with any other artist or band (that you haven’t already), who would you choose and why?
Wande: I would tour with Kirk Franklin and Kanye West because I feel that they capture executing your gifts at a high level and I think I would be able to give a full experience of the music.

CCM: If you could tell the world about another artist/band to check out, who would it be?
Wande: V Rose, she’s one of my other favorite women right now in the Christian music industry.

CCM: What has been interesting to you musically lately?
Wande: Perhaps something new to you in terms of listening habits or influences?

CCM: Name a song that you wish you’d written (and why).
Wande: “Meant for Me” by Ty Brassel. I feel that it accurately describes a season of life I went through of knowing what God has called me to do even when others didn’t see the vision.

CCM: How did you arrive at the name of your new album?
Wande: I arrived at the name Exit because God taught me that every exit is an entrance. In life we have seasons and our current pain isn’t the indication of the end. This season will pass and we will be able to enter into the next. Even our time on earth is temporary and we must exit in order to enter paradise with God.

CCM: What can listeners expect in terms of the sound, style and lyrics?
Wande: Listeners can expect a variety on this album. You will have singing and rapping. Some songs will have intense 808‘s and others are softer ballads. Ultimately it’s a sonic experience that I expect you to enjoy. Lyrically you’ll hear my testimony as well as lessons God has taught me in general, as well as some songs written from God’s perspective.

CCM: How important is your faith or spirituality within your music?
Wande: My faith is the driving force of everything I do so it’s definitely very important.

CCM: What message do you hope listeners will take away from your music, regardless of what they believe?
Wande: I hope that they will gain the confidence to be themselves, no longer live in fear, and live the life that they truly feel they’re meant to live.
