Recently, John Cooper announced to Blabbermouth.net that new music from Skillet will be releasing this year. He said that the songs were born out of COVID and a population questioning their faith during that time. This isn't Cooper's only project bouncing off of these ideas. Earlier this year, he released his book Awake and Alive to Truth which dove into the search for truth in a chaotic world. Cooper has always been very outspoken about his faith, and funneling this into music is a core part of Skillet. "All things were created by God," Cooper said in response to a question of whether rock music is from the Devil or not.
